The MCAT program is designed to avoid hospitalizations, minimize police intervention, and link crisis callers to long term services in the community. This program serves residents in Columbia and Greene Counties using a three-pronged system of response; Crisis Prevention, Crisis Intervention, and Crisis Follow up. Duties include: Working as a support of a two-person mobile crisis team. Going out into the community to assess individuals in the midst of a mental health crisis. Deescalating crises. Making a determination as to proper interventions. Intervening in crisis situation over the phone. Networking with various agencies in Columbia and Greene counties.
