Our company is looking to hire a Pre-press Supervisor who can oversee the digital pre-press department, ensuring all graphic files are technically perfect for large-format, signage, and display production. Supervising an assistant, maintaining color management standards, optimizing file workflows, and bridging the gap between design and physical print production to ensure flawless, high-quality execution. You will be a critical link between our production/design/workshop teams to guarantee the efficient and high-quality production of printed materials.
Job Summary

•Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Manager
•Focus: Large-format graphics, retail displays, and signage
Core Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule the daily activities of the pre-press team, prioritize jobs, and establish methods to meet production deadlines.
Ensure all incoming electronic files are "print-ready," checking for accuracy in color, resolution, layout, and formatting (e.g., proper bleed, trapping, and imposition).
Identify and resolve technical issues related to digital files, software, or equipment, collaborating with designers and press operators as needed.
Supervise, train, and mentor, pre-press staff, while maintaining a positive working attitude.
Work closely with other departments (project management & production, etc.)
Oversee the maintenance and repair of pre-press equipment (e.g., computers, proofing devices, platemakers) and manage the inventory of supplies like plates and consumables.
Implement and optimize standard operating procedures, introduce new technologies or automation tools, and lead initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Job Requirements
Must have 5+ years of experience in pre-press operations, with prior leadership or supervisory experience. Vinyl Application in house and on site is a must.
Expertise in industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), imposition software, and digital workflow systems. Knowledge of CMYK, RGB, and Spot colors. AutoCAD & Rhino are a huge plus. Must understand digital, and large format printing and have an excellent eye for color.
•Thorough understanding of various printing methods (offset, digital, flexographic, etc.), color management protocols, and quality control standards.
Must have vinyl installation experience, this is essential. A substantial part of the position requires vinyl application in small and large formats at various locations.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills are essential for managing teams and coordinating complex projects under pressure. Be able to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment. Work well with short lead times. Must have a flexible schedule as hours may vary. Some late night and weekend work may be required. This is not a 9-5 position.
A high school diploma is a minimum requirement, while a technical or vocational degree in graphic arts, print technology, or a related field is often preferred.
