Job Description We’re seeking highly dependable and professional Armed Security Officer - Transit to protect the RTD transit system across the Denver metro area. In this role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding passengers, employees, and property throughout bus routes, light rail stations, and major transit hubs. Location: Denver, CO Pay: $25.00 an hour Schedule: Flexible schedule necessary Qualifications: Candidates must meet one of the following: 2 years of law enforcement experience, 1 year of active-duty military service, or 1 year of corrections experience. In lieu of this, candidates may qualify with 7 years of unarmed security experience, 3 years of armed security experience, or a minimum of 60 college credit hours. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide high quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons. Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE): High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment Minimum of three (3) years of law enforcement, military, or private armed security experience Minimum of 21 years of age (or higher if required by the state) Excellent communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports Able to complete all range qualifications and functions PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE): Associate's degree or higher In Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance Company's retirement plans Seven holidays annually paid at time and a half, if worked 40 hours of vacation after one year of employment at eligible work assignments; unused vacation is only paid out where required by law Closing Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
