Utilize a marked patrol vehicle for city patrols Unarmed Security Officer | City Patrol – Lakewood, CA Southwest Patrol Southwest Patrol is currently seeking an experienced, dependable, and professional Unarmed Security Officer to provide patrol services throughout the City of Lakewood. The selected officer will patrol the city utilizing a Southwest Patrol marked patrol vehicle and conduct regular security checks of city-owned and related properties. This position requires an officer who is alert, responsible, comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and capable of accurately documenting activities throughout the shift. Schedule Wednesday – Sunday 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM Applicants must be available to work the entire Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule and be prepared to start ASAP. IMPORTANT: This position requires weekend availability. Requests for a Monday-through-Friday schedule or weekends off will not be considered. Compensation Starting at $21.75 per hour – DOE (Depending on Experience) Job Responsibilities The selected officer will be responsible for maintaining a professional and highly visible security presence throughout the assigned areas of the City of Lakewood. Duties include: Patrolling designated areas throughout the city in a Southwest Patrol marked vehicle Conducting regular security checks of city buildings and related properties Locking and unlocking designated gates and access points according to schedule Remaining alert and vigilant throughout the entire shift Identifying and reporting suspicious activity, safety hazards, property damage, and other noteworthy conditions Documenting patrol activities, security checks, and incidents through a mobile reporting application Taking photographs and completing clear, accurate written reports when required Maintaining professional communication with fellow officers, supervisors, dispatch, city personnel, and members of the public Following all post orders, company policies, and assigned patrol procedures Properly operating and caring for the assigned Southwest Patrol vehicle Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet ALL applicable requirements to be considered: Valid California BSIS Guard Card in good standing Current Powers to Arrest/Use of Force training certificate All required BSIS permits and certifications must be current and in good standing Valid driver's license in good standing with no points Reliable transportation to and from work Must be able to pass a drug screening Must be able to communicate in English and Spanish Must be comfortable using a smartphone and mobile applications for reporting Must be able to work professionally and cooperatively with other security officers Must maintain a clean and professional appearance Hair and facial hair must be neat and well groomed No visible tattoos while in uniform No facial or head piercings Must be available Wednesday through Sunday, including weekends HIGHLY DESIRABLE Applicants who already possess a professional duty belt with appropriate security equipment are highly desirable.
