This assignment requires a RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT background in addition to a valid NYS Armed Security Guard Registration Card. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, and authorized personnel. Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the assigned shift. Monitor entrances, exits, and designated access points. Control access to the property in accordance with established security procedures. Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols. Monitor the premises for suspicious activity, safety concerns, unauthorized access, and potential security threats. Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents and emergencies. Assist with established emergency response and safety procedures when necessary. Communicate security concerns and incidents to appropriate personnel. Complete incident reports and other required security documentation. Follow all school-specific security procedures and site post orders. Exercise sound judgment and professionalism when interacting with students, staff, visitors, and members of the public. Minimum Qualifications Valid NYS Armed Security Guard Registration Card. Retired law enforcement background required for this assignment. Previous professional security experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong observation and situational awareness skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment in security-related and emergency situations. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to perform both indoor and outdoor security assignments. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain the assigned work schedule. Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.
