About the Project Babel Audio is looking for professional Tamil-speaking (Standard Tamil / Chennai) voice actors for an individual performance project. Your performances will be used to train AI systems to better understand and express human emotion. This is an expressive, character-driven role requiring genuine talent, and we have structured this engagement to reflect that. You will receive a script and scene summary, analyze the emotional context, and deliver a truthful performance suited to both the character and the moment. Scenes are specific and emotionally rich. You may portray characters such as: A bride bidding farewell to her family on her wedding day, overwhelmed with emotion A father holding his newborn child for the first time, overcome with emotion A shepherd spotting a wolf in the distance and becoming alert to protect his flock A doctor, heavy-hearted, delivering news of a patient’s death to their family A track athlete, filled with emotion as they approach the finish line after years of training Recordings are under one minute. You choose which scripts to record, and you work entirely on your own schedule. Who You Are Native-level fluency in Standard Tamil (Chennai) Professional background in voice acting, dubbing, narration, audiobook recording, or similar Ability to deliver clear and compelling vocal performances across various styles and emotions Comfortable explaining a scene summary and working independently with minimal direction Compensation $60 USD / recorded hour Performance-based bonus incentives may apply Technical Requirements Voice Quality: Clear, consistent voice quality. External Microphone: USB microphone preferred (XLR also acceptable; built-in, wireless, and Bluetooth microphones are not accepted). Recording Setup: Computer or laptop required (mobile phones or tablets cannot be used). Environment: Quiet room with no background noise; acoustic treatment or soundproofing required so that echo or reverb is not audible.
