Creative position that welcomes artistic input while valuing direction Part-Time Videographer / Video Editor / Content Creator We are looking for an experienced, creative, and dependable videographer/video editor and content creator to work with us part-time on a variety of ongoing projects. This is NOT just a desk editing position and it is NOT just a camera position. We are looking for someone who can take content from recording all the way through editing and posting. Our projects cover several very different areas, so the work will stay interesting. Content may include: ● Filming construction projects and day-to-day activity at active job sites ● Following and recording a business owner and crews during portions of the workday ● Professionally documenting experiments, prototypes, testing, and product development ● Creating documentary-style footage for scientific and project records ● Producing and editing content intended for social media and online audiences ● Editing animated/cartoon content that is currently being developed ● Creating short-form and longer-form videos ● Assisting with website content, graphics, photos, and video ● Preparing and posting finished content across multiple online platforms Some footage may simply become documentation. Other projects may develop into larger social-media, documentary, entertainment, or commercial opportunities. We are exploring several different avenues and want someone capable of helping us professionally capture and organize that process. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR You should already know your way around professional video editing software and understand filming, composition, lighting, audio, pacing, transitions, titles, graphics, and preparing video for different online platforms. An eye for detail and creativity are extremely important. At the same time, this is a directed creative position. You need to be comfortable taking a concept or specific instructions and executing them accurately. We absolutely welcome ideas and artistic input, but the ability to follow direction closely and deliver what was requested is essential. You should be comfortable working independently without needing someone to walk you through your editing software or production process. EQUIPMENT We prefer someone who already owns and is familiar with their basic recording equipment. You do NOT need a $5,000+ cinema-camera setup. We care much more about whether you understand how to produce clean, professional-looking footage and good audio with practical equipment. If you know how to make great content without requiring an enormous production setup, that’s exactly what we’re looking for. POSITION Part-time / ongoing Work will be a combination of computer-based editing/content work and going into the field to record projects. Some days may involve construction sites, other days product experiments or development, and others may be entirely editing and online content. We are looking for someone interested in growing with the position rather than simply completing an occasional video.
