Utilize creative vision to transform spaces into unique sets About the Project We’re seeking an experienced Set Designer based in the Los Angeles area to help bring a premium color cosmetics brand to life through a dynamic vertical video series. This project will feature the face of the brand in a collection of highly engaging, social-first content. The production will take place in a multi-use building in Downtown Los Angeles, where we’ll transform the space into 3–4 unique, visually impactful sets designed specifically for vertical storytelling. We’re looking for someone who understands how to create elevated environments that translate beautifully on camera while working within production timelines and budgets. Responsibilities: (not limited to) Collaborate with the Creative Director and Producer to develop the visual look of the series. Design and execute 3–4 distinct sets within one location. Create mood boards, renderings, and set layouts. Source furniture, props, décor, scenic elements, and specialty materials. Work with fabrication vendors as needed. Oversee installation, styling, and strike. Ensure each set is optimized for vertical (9:16) content creation. Manage design within the approved budget. Coordinate with lighting, camera, and production teams to maximize efficiency on set. Ideal Candidate: 3+ years of professional experience in set design, production design, experiential, commercial, or branded content. Strong portfolio featuring beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or commercial work. Excellent eye for color, texture, composition, and modern design trends. Experience sourcing props and working with local Los Angeles vendors. Comfortable working in fast-paced production environments. Ability to create multiple unique looks within one location. Knowledge of production logistics and installation. Must be local to Los Angeles. Bonus Qualifications: Beauty or cosmetics campaign experience. Experience designing for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. Scenic painting or fabrication experience. Existing relationships with prop houses and rental vendors.
