5-Year-Old Blue Heeler Needs Adult-Only Home I am looking to safely rehome my handsome 5-year-old male Blue Heeler to keep him out of the county shelter system. He is a wonderful, intensely loyal dog, but he has very typical, high-drive working breed traits. • The Perks: He is incredibly sweet and perfectly fine once he gets to know you! He just needs a brief moment to warm up to new people. • The Traits: He barks at strangers initially (protective breed instinct) and has a strong herding drive that causes him to nip at ankles when he gets over-excited. • Home Requirements: Because of his herding drive, he is not good with small children and requires an adult-only or older children environment with someone who understands herding or working dog behaviors.
