9 Year Old German Shepherd (Carpenter)

Description

Misty is 8 years old as far as I know, and still very active. I have had her about 4 years. She was obviously abused as a puppy. She is terrified of loud noises like fireworks, gun shots, and thunder and will run away from you when you shake a rug or pick up a broom or anything that looks like a gun. She is quite fearful of other dogs so sees them as a threat and then attacks them. She is loyal, sweet, and a good companion. She is very obedient; sits, stays, comes to her name and/or whistle, knows "no", walks on a leash, loves attention and is friendly to people. For the most part, she doesn’t bark. She wasn't raised with kids so is not a kid’s dog. She’s not aggressive, she just ignores them unless they pet her. She has been outside but would adjust to indoors easily. She doesn’t mess in her kennel unless left all day. She would love to be inside when there’s fireworks, gunshots or thunder. I no longer have the time to spend much time with her and deal with her fear. I have to keep an eye on her so she doesn’t attack the dog next door. She needs to be an only dog, preferably with room to run. She currently has an acre to roam. She is still very active and doesn’t show any “shepherd” maladies.
