We are seeking a motived and inquisitive Applied Physicist who thrives in research, algorithm development, modeling, simulion, and implemention. The ideal candide demonstres strong scientific curiosity, sound physical intuition, excellent mhemical skills, and a commitment to continuous learning. Primary Responsibilities · Develop physics-based models, simulions, and analysis algorithms th support Nional Defense applicions. · Research, design, and evalue innovive approaches for radar/sensor phenomenology, detection, characterizion, and da exploition. · Apply applied physics, mhemics, and signal processing techniques to extract useful informion from complex measured and simuled da sets. · Perform da analysis, model validion, uncertainty assessment, and performance characterizion for algorithms and systems. · Cree efficient implementions of scientific algorithms in MATLAB, Python, or similar high-level languages. · Document methods, results, and assumptions clearly for technical peers, program leadership, and customers. · Work collegially within a talented multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, mhemicians, and software developers. Basic Qualificions · BS degree with 5+ years of prior relevant applied physics, radar/sensor modeling, signal processing, da analysis, or scientific algorithm development experience; Masters with 2+ years of relevant experience; or Doctoral degree in physics, applied physics, engineering, applied mhemics, or a reled scientific field. · US Citizenship and able to maintain a Top Secret security clearance. · Experience developing, analyzing, or validing physics-based models, simulions, or scientific algorithms. · Excellent analytical, mhemical, and problem-solving skills. · Fluency in MATLAB, Python, or a similar high-level scientific computing language. · Ability to transle physical concepts into algorithms, simulions, and quantitive analyses. · Proven track record of innovion, technical problem solving, and achieving results in a research or engineering environment. · Strong documention and communicion skills. · Required on-site full-time work in San Diego, CA. Preferred Qualificions · Understanding of radar phenomenology, electromagnetic sctering, detection, estimion, or characterizion. · Experience with modeling and simulion of physical systems, sensor systems, remote sensing, ocean/environmental phenomenology, or reled da-intensive applicions. · Experience programming in C/C++ or developing efficient production-quality scientific software. · Experience with stistical analysis, estimion theory, optimizion, machine learning, or uncertainty quantificion. · Comfortable with public speaking and/or customer presentions.
