Responsibilities Follow lesson plans left by the absent teacher Attend to the physical and emotional needs of students in the classroom Adhere to the school’s policies and procedures Maintain a positive learning environment for students Effectively manage the classroom Use appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary Communicate with the regular classroom teacher and school administration as needed Requirements Possess a valid teaching substitute certificate Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and best practices in teaching Ability to engage students and create a positive learning environment Excellent communication skills Ability to work in a team-oriented environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
