We are seeking an Associate/Project Structural Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities Attend job meetings and site visits, taking notes and managing job tasks within our team structure and with clients. Apply and advance CAD standards, LISP routines, and file management practices, converting architect files to Praxis standards and implementing our quality control standards. Draft plan markups, redlined layouts, and structural detail sheets with team members and direction from Senior Staff. Develop basic to advanced engineering calculations with Senior Engineering Staff, maintaining a career calculations folder and building tools to improve efficiency. Conduct site observations, inspections, shop drawing reviews, and RFI management for projects within the team structure, utilizing overall experience from all team members to better support the projects in construction. Maintain an open mind to tackle unique design problems, using creative ideas to support our clients. As you advance, you will manage client/contractor communication, proactively identify problems and provide solutions to design opportunities and construction challenges. As you advance, you will manage projects within small teams to coordinate design tasks, plans and coordinate with Senior Structural Design team members. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering 2-7 years experience in structural engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Experience designing new, existing and historic structures using wood, concrete, steel, masonry and specialized materials as requested. Experience managing small group communications and client communications. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple small-team projects while remaining flexible enough to step in on larger projects as opportunities and schedules demand. Writing skills should include prior experience with field reports, structural observations, editing specifications, and project correspondence. Proficiency with RISA, AutoCAD, ENERCALC, Excel, and Bluebeam. Demonstrated ability to work with a team structure and manage specific tasks independently. When necessary, have the ability to take initiative and lead with integrity.
