Job Description
REI Build Up Construction is seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Structural Engineer to join our team. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of structural construction, particularly structural steel, concrete, and seismic work.
Responsibilities:
Review structural drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, general contractors, inspectors, and field crews
Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders
Assist with structural steel fabrication and installation coordination
Perform site visits and field verification
Identify conflicts between drawings and actual field conditions
Assist with structural calculations and engineering solutions
Coordinate special inspections and testing as required
Support project scheduling, material procurement, and project documentation
Work closely with our steel fabrication and construction teams
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in structural engineering, project engineering, or a related construction position
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required
Strong knowledge of structural steel and concrete construction
Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
Familiarity with California building codes and seismic construction preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
AutoCAD experience preferred
Experience with structural engineering/design software is a plus
EIT certification is required. PE license is a plus, but not required
