Architect looking for an experienced structural engineer for the design of a new exterior steel fire escape for an existing masonry residential building at UES Manhattan brick townhouse.
The project involves designing a new independent fire escape system serving the existing building, including the required structural supports, connections, anchorage, platforms, stairs/ladders, and related structural details.
I am specifically looking for someone who has previous experience designing fire escapes in New York City.
Please do not respond if you have only general structural engineering experience but have never designed a NYC fire escape.
Scope may include:
Review of existing architectural drawings and field conditions
Structural design of steel fire escape
Support and anchorage design to existing masonry/building structure
Structural calculations
Member sizing and connection details
Structural drawings/details suitable for incorporation into the architectural filing/construction set
Coordination with Architect
I am the project architect and will file /coordinate the overall drawings and filing.
