Manage diverse and complex projects simultaneously Job Description: A premier fence manufacturing company of custom ornamental iron products seeks a broadly skilled mechanical or civil engineer who has worked in a manufacturing environment. This role includes supervising CAD drafters as well as hands-on work with sales, manufacturing, and customers to deliver rapid turn custom ornamental iron products. The candidate must be capable of managing multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously. This position is an in-person role located at our Sacramento, CA facility. Key Skills: • Excellent organizational and time managements capabilities required to manage multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously. • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities. Job role requires supervising 2-3 CAD drafters as well as working with sales and manufacturing. • Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required to discuss technical issues with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders in a clear and professional manner. Responsibilities: • Supervise 2-3 CAD drafters. • Work with Sales team to produce drawings for manufacturing. • Develop drawings based on architectural designs and written specifications. • Interpret Civil and Structural plans and design products based on field conditions. • Work with manufacturing to resolve issues as they arise. • Interface with customers on technical issues during design, manufacturing, and installation phases of project. This may include site visits to meet with customers and project owners. • Work with professional engineers as required on structural design and analyses. • Review past projects as necessary for corrective action. • Research projects to improve internal processes as requested or under own initiative. • Manage multiple simultaneous projects of varying complexity Requirements: • Mechanical or Civil engineering degree preferred • 5 years minimum AutoCAD experience • Ability to read plans (architectural, civil, and/or structural) • Customer-facing skills • Worked in a manufacturing environment o steel fabrication or powder coating preferred
