Summary: Experienced Paralegals will conduct interviews, draft legal documents, and manage multiple cases in civil rights, employment, or housing discrimination law. Highlights: 1. Draft legal documents and detailed factual summaries Long Term Temporary Position : EXPERIENCED PARALEGALS (3) positions for PARALEGALS ONLY. The work will be fully REMOTE. Required Education: An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field; OR A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program. Required Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant, with a strong preference for experience in civil rights, employment law, or housing discrimination law. Demonstrated experience conducting complainant, client, or witness interviews, particularly with individuals from diverse or vulnerable backgrounds. Experience drafting legal documents, administrative complaints, or detailed factual summaries. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with civil rights statutes (i.e., NY State Human Rights Law, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Fair Housing Act). Key Skills & Competencies: Active Listening & Empathy: Ability to listen actively, build trust, and extract detailed factual information from individuals who may be experiencing distress. Exceptional Writing Skills: Ability to synthesize complex factual narratives into clear, concise, and legally structured complaints. Analytical Thinking: Strong critical thinking skills to identify key legal issues and elements of proof in discrimination claims. Organization & Time Management: High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict legal deadlines. Software Proficiency: Proficiency with legal practice management software, and document management systems. Selected Candidates will be required to pick up state issued laptop at an Albany NY location before start date. Candidates must have high speed Internet connectivity to perform the work.
