Description
Leidos is seeking Paralegals loced in the Washington DC area. You will work in a fast-paced and diverse environment assisting the program and management team with workflows for electronic case filings (ECF).
Be part of a dynamic team in providing legal and technical services to support the Division of Offices, Boards and Divisions the Department of Justice. In this role, you will gain skills, such as time and task management, critical thinking and problem solving, and the ability to communice compliced problems in a concise manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform intake and track hundreds to thousands of claims in any given mter.
Enters claims filing informion into an Excel tracking system
Proofread settlement memos for content and details in formting.
Responds to DOJ torney requests for filing informion and retrieval
Conducts simple to moderely complex dabase searches
Performs simple legal research
Assist DOJ torneys in preparion for trials.
Basic Qualificions:
Requires paralegal certifice, JD, or currently tending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed least one year of study. One (1) year of legal training or legal experience or least two (2) years of college educion may be substituted for the paralegal certifice.
At least one (1) year of litigion paralegal experience or project experience.
Experience with primary litigion with a solid general litigion experience, including support preparing for trial.
Experience using Excel for creing tracking spreadsheets and developing processes for claims intake and review.
Excellent written and oral communicion skills.
Experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
Preferred Qualificions:
Excellent proofreading skills.
Strong organizional skills.
Solid general litigion support experience
Prior experience working in a Federal Government environment.
Trial preparion experience
Claims processing experience is a plus
This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements. Leidos ensures th all provisions are sisfied. The pay for this position will be $25.58/hr.
