Work with hand and power tools in a field erection crew Now Hiring: Ironworkers – Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Area Superior Skilled Trades is hiring 2 Ironworkers for a temp-to-hire opportunity in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. If you have experience with structural steel, pre-engineered metal buildings, or steel erection, this is an excellent opportunity to join a professional construction team with the potential for long-term employment. Position: Ironworker Location: Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Area, Iowa Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay: $25–$30/hour Start Date: immediate Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Hours: 40+ hours per week PPE: Basic PPE required Background Check: Required Job Responsibilities Erect and assemble pre-engineered metal buildings and structural steel. Assist with layout, positioning, and installation of steel components. Work from construction drawings, plans, and specifications. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Assist with bolting, fastening, fitting, and securing structural steel components. Work as part of a field erection crew. Follow directions from the foreman and project leadership. Maintain a safe and organized work area. Follow all company and job-site safety requirements. Perform other duties associated with steel erection and construction as needed. Qualifications 2+ years of experience working with pre-engineered metal buildings or structural steel preferred. Previous ironworking, steel erection, or construction experience. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Ability to safely work at heights. Ability to work effectively as part of a crew. Ability to follow instructions and read construction plans/drawings. Welding experience or certification is a plus. OSHA certification is a plus, but not required. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Work Environment This position will be performed in an active construction environment and may require working outdoors and at elevated heights.
