Potential to evolve into a supervisory role The owner of a mid to high end residential building and remodeling company is looking for someone to assist with a variety of carpentry and general labor tasks on multiple jobsites. Basic Carpentry Basic framing, trim carpentry, decking, siding General Labor Assisting carpenters and subcontractors as needed. This may include tasks such as help raising walls or installing beams, help installing cabinets, mixing concrete or assisting setting up staging. Transportation Transporting of materials and supplies. Some materials are rough and heavy and will require physical strength and knowledge of securing loads while some tasks are of high-end finish materials that need special care in handling Job site prep, cleanup and safety Installing dust and floor protection, sweeping and shop vaccing, loading/organizing dumpster, organizing tools and supplies, identifying and resolving safety concerns or hazards Communication Communicating with customers, vendors and subcontractors Requirements Applicant is must be able to lead and direct subcontractors and employees. Fluency in Portuguese and English is a must (Spanish a plus). Many subcontractors and subcontractors employes speak Portuguese, so applicant must be comfortable translating. Applicant must be comfortable with basic carpentry tasks and have basic hand tools and vehicle capable of transporting supplies. Must be able to be given instruction and work independently. Must have good communication skills, be honest, hardworking, able to pass a drug test and interested in learning and advancing his/her skills. We are intending to hire someone who wants to grow with the company as this position has potential to evolve into a supervisory role.
