Sysco is seeking dependable and experienced Selectors to support operations at one of the nation’s leading foodservice distributors. This role takes place in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment where accuracy, safety, and productivity are essential to daily success.
The role offers multiple components of earning potential, including a base hourly rate and performance-based incentives tied to individual productivity.
Prior experience working as a warehouse Selector is required. Crew members should be comfortable using RF scanners, printing labels, and working in cold-temperature environments typical of food distribution facilities.
This role requires experience operating warehouse material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, including multi-pallet jacks, and other equipment used during the order selecting process.
This position begins with a 5-day training, onboarding, and assessment period. Training includes both classroom instruction and hands-on warehouse learning. During this time, performance, reliability, and adherence to operational standards will be evaluated. Crew members who successfully complete training may become eligible to support future Sysco opportunities, including on-demand and longer-term assignments. Crew members may be removed from the assignment during the training period if performance expectations are not met.
Responsibilities:
Select customer orders by accurately picking cases of product using RF scanners and warehouse picking systems
Navigate warehouse aisles to locate and retrieve products according to order specifications
Operate electric pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to transport product safely throughout the facility
Build pallets in a stable and organized manner to ensure safe transportation and delivery
Wrap and label completed pallets for staging and outbound shipment
Verify product codes, quantities, and labels to maintain high order accuracy
Work using RF scanning systems that track picking speed, accuracy, and productivity throughout the shift
Meet established productivity standards by consistently selecting a high volume of cases throughout the shift
Work in refrigerated and cold-temperature zones while completing assigned picks
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support warehouse safety standards
Communicate with supervisors and team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
Follow all warehouse safety guidelines and operational procedures at all times
Skills:
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify products, quantities, and SKUs
Comfort working in refrigerated and cold-temperature warehouse environments
Ability to operate electric pallet jacks and similar warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
Ability to quickly learn warehouse layouts and product locations
Strong time management and ability to work efficiently under productivity expectations
Comfort working independently while contributing to overall team operations
Clear communication skills and the ability to follow operational instructions
Ability to perform physically demanding warehouse work including frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and walking for the duration of the shift
Ability to safely handle repetitive lifting and physical warehouse tasks
Requirements:
Prior warehouse order selecting experience is required
Experience using RF scanners and warehouse picking systems
Experience operating electric pallet jacks including multi-pallet jacks
Must be comfortable working in a productivity-driven environment where picking speed and accuracy are measured using RF scanning systems
Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in temperature-controlled warehouse environments including refrigerated and freezer areas when required
Must wear approved safety gear including steel-toe boots and a high-visibility vest
Maintain a clean and professional appearance appropriate for a food distribution environment
No loose clothing, jewelry, or accessories that may pose a safety hazard
Hair must be tied back if shoulder-length or longer
Must follow all Sysco safety, hygiene, and conduct policies while on site
Must complete mandatory multi-day on-site training including classroom and hands-on instruction
Must park in the main lot upon arrival and report to the front desk to check in
Must present a valid government-issued ID upon arrival

Safely relocating or repacking inventory items as directed, up to 50 pounds in weight
Operating machinery or other light equipment as trained in a safe and responsible manner
Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities as required by the immediate supervisor
Working on your feet at a fast pace for the entirety of the shift
Comfortable working in an environment where there are forklifts, machinery, large trucks, and other standard or sub-standard warehouse equipment
There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.
