I have recently moved to the Portland area. I am seeking to hire a helper as it has been harder for me than i thought it would be for me to integrate into the area- I am not looking for nurse type help in terms of mobility issues or help getting around or going shopping. I have chemical sensitivities(similar to fibromyalgia) and am looking for a helper/friend that is an intelligent, compassionate person with good analytical skills. Someone who can help me and may have some knowledge of naturopathic doctors and allopathic doctors in the area, someone who likes me and would like to work with me, someonw with their own transportation, and someone who is familiar with the Portland area. I have done this before where it works and i have done this before where it has not worked and it seems to come down to whether I have anything in common with the person , whether they are intelligent and can understand my issues and what I'm trying to accomplish, and don't mind me calling them to talk about things other than just the time they are working with me. You would have total flexibility with what hours and what days although if you live more than an hour away that could be an issue logistically. It starts with just talking on the phone and i can tell you much more, and then we would meet in person at a coffee shop or bookstore and talk more to see if you think it would be a good fit for you. I pay 25 dollars an hour-I pay in cash-this would be a very part time gig-I would say maximum hours would be 8 to 9 hours per week actual time working to start-we would meet in person maybe 2 to 3 days max Some things can be accomplished by just talking on the phone like my asking you how to find stores, sites, etc because of my mediocre computer skills.
