16 hour weekend shift - (8hrs/day) 7am-330pm
20 hour weekend shift - (10hrs/day) 7am-5:30pm
30 hour shift - Mon - Friday (5hrs/day) 5pm-11:30pm
*$1,000 sign on bonus offered within first 6 months*
Position summary:
Working in Environmental Services, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff. This position supports hospital operations by ensuring all assigned areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.
Key responsibilities:Perform hard floor care including dusting and damp mopping
Provide carpet and furniture care including vacuuming, spot removal, and shampooing
Collect and dispose of trash, soiled linens, and recyclable materials, and replace liners
Clean and maintain horizontal and vertical surfaces such as vents, light fixtures, windows, and doors
Clean restrooms, including fixtures, and replenish supplies
Maintain assigned areas including stairwells, elevators, furniture, equipment, and patient care items
Change curtains, draperies, blinds, and shades as needed
Operate electric and battery-powered cleaning equipment and assist with moving furniture or equipment
Pick up supplies, handle regulated medical waste, and respond to spills or emergencies while using proper protective equipment
Clean and remake beds, stretchers, and exam tables
Minimum qualifications
Education:Ability to read and understand written instructions in English
Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, and comparing numbers and letters
Experience:Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions in English and respond appropriately to questions or requests
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
Ability to interact courteously with patients, families, and staff
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
