Summary: Seeking a dedicated caregiver for overnight assistance with an ALS client, involving personal care and medical equipment support in a live-in or full-time role. Highlights: 1. Overnight care for ALS client, including personal and medical assistance. 2. Opportunity for live-in arrangement with provided accommodation. 3. Non-smoker environment for client's health. The client is a 55 year old man who has ALS. This can be full time or full time and you live with us. Only non-smokers can apply because my client is allergic to tobacco. He weighs about 170 lbs. The client is my husband and he lives with me and our 6 children. The ages for the kids are 26, 21, 19, 12, 9 and 6. The younger kids go to public school starting on 8/12/26. The 9 and 6 year old kids also go to after school care till 5:30 pm. The 26 year old is my son and he doesn’t work and he takes care of my husband every day from 7 am to 11:30 pm. I am a stay at home mom. He wakes up every night about 1 and half hours needing help so the work hours are from 11:30 pm to 7 am preferably every night but we need someone ASAP so we are okay with doing less hours and/or days if necessary . The duties are helping the client urinate during the night using an urinal where he sits up in his hospital bed, using a machine to suck out mucus from his nose, using a breathing machine that he uses almost all night long, while is lying completely flat he needs someone to pick him up a little bit to move him towards the headboard because when he sits up to urinate he slides down some on the bed and the last thing is you need to stay in the master bedroom all night long with him. There’s a master bathroom attached to his room that you can use. Next to his hospital bed is a king size bed that you can sit on and use your phone. For a live in employee, there’s a bedroom that is available every day from 7 am to 11:30 pm only because I sleep in that same bed every night from 11:30 pm to 7 am. I will change the sheets every morning to your sheets for the bed . There’s a king size bed, a night stand and a dresser with 4 drawers for your clothes. Pay is dependent on experience, availability, and role of scope (hourly, salary or live in)
