Description

Raven is made of different material—she's more like a fairy godmother than a cat. She’s been gone almost six weeks now, vanished one afternoon without a trace. But because of her magic, we have not given up on her. Raven is the most relaxed, friendly animal I’ve ever known. Babies like Raven. Grouchy people like Raven. Dog people like Raven. Even *dogs* like Raven. If she ran for mayor of our neighborhood, no one else would bother mounting a campaign. At the house across the street, Raven likes to arrive while the family watches TV and nestle her way down the line of laps, like Goldilocks. At another house, an admirer hand feeds her popcorn. But she is not selfish. In return for affection Raven gives from a bottomless fount of love that is pure and uncomplicated. She licks your face. She makes you smile. She climbs under the blankets to get closer. When you have a bellyache, she lines up beside you and places only her paws, just gently, on your abdomen. We have looked all over our neighborhood and hung hundreds of signs, put flyers in countless mailboxes. If there is a being worthy of a fairytale ending, it is Raven. (There is a not inconceivable version of this story in which she rides home on the back of someone’s motorcycle.) But until then, we will keep looking for her in any way we can. Thank you for helping us! Raven is: 11 years old, roughly 9 pounds (i.e. medium size), tortoiseshell, medium/longhair, female and spayed. She wasn't wearing a collar when she left.
