In this role, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for our staff and customers, protect store assets, and deter disruptive behavior or theft. The ideal candidate will have excellent situational awareness, a strong work ethic, and a professional, approachable demeanor. Key Responsibilities- Maintain Store Presence: Monitor the sales floor, and entrance to deter shoplifting, loitering, and vandalism. Customer Interaction: Greet incoming customers politely and ensure an orderly flow of traffic inside the shop. Verify Identification: When necessary, assist retail staff by confirming customers meet age requirements for regulated items (tobacco, or age-restricted products). De-escalate Conflicts: Handle difficult situations or unruly visitors calmly and professionally using verbal de-escalation techniques. Emergency Response: Respond quickly to security emergencies or safety hazards and contact law enforcement or emergency services when required. Report Incidents: Maintain a daily log and document any notable incidents, safety concerns, or theft accurately for management review. Qualifications & SkillsCredentials: Must possess a valid State Security License / Guard Card. Experience: Minimum 2 years of security experience, preferably in a retail, hospitality, or customer-facing environment. Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to interact positively with diverse groups of customers and staff. Physical: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout your shift. Reliability: Trustworthy with a history of excellent punctuality and attendance. Background Check: Must be willing to undergo a standard background check in compliance with local regulations.
