Summary:
Cares for and maintains plants in assigned area as specified by area Lead or Supervisor. Responsibilities include planting, watering, weeding, separating, tagging, labeling, cleaning, selecting, loading, preparing plants for shipping, assembling dish gardens or planting from one size pot to another.
Essential Functions:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Moving and spacing plants.
Pinching or pruning plants.
Irrigating plants.
Selecting and collecting plants for harvest.
Applying fertilizers to plants.
Cleaning plants.
Applying labels to plants.
Remove weed and water plants using basic watering techniques.
Tie, bunch, wrap, and pack plants to fill orders.
Cut and pinch plants to optimize growth.
Clean, sweep, work area after every task and or at the end of your shift.
Communicate any concerns / issues to section lead.
Haul and spread different soil types.
Haul and spread fertilizer, and other materials.
Communicate with supervisor of any unsafe equipment or working area.
Other duties as assigned.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Dependability and punctuality are mandatory. Must be able to work a varied schedule which includes weekends and some holidays. Must be respectful in demeanor and appearance. Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
No prior experience or training.
Language Skills:
Ability to read a limited number of two- three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills:
General understanding of basic mathematical concepts. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability (able to):
Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to use ladder, pallet jack, and other equipment safely. Proficiently and safely use of hand tools (scissors, pruners, and tie wrap). Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
