Traffic Tech Driver supports daily traffic control operations by safely transporting equipment, assisting with setup, and ensuring work zones meet all safety standards. {Core Responsibilities: -Safely operate company vehicles to transport traffic control equipment to and from job sites. -Assist in the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of traffic control zones (cones, signs, delineators, barricades, arrow boards, etc.). -Follow all Caltrans, city, and company safety standards. -Communicate clearly with Leads and Drivers regarding job progress, hazards, or changes. -Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately. -Maintain accurate counts of equipment delivered and retrieved. -Support team members during lane closures, special events, emergencies, and overnight operations. -Represent the company professionally when interacting with contractors, city staff, or the public. -Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety expectations. {Job Requirements: -Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record. -Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly (cones, signs, barricades). -Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and high‑traffic environments. -Reliable transportation to the yard and consistent punctuality. -Ability to read and follow maps, instructions, and closure plans. -Strong situational awareness and safety mindset. {Preferred Skills & Certifications: -Traffic Control Technician (TCT) or Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification. -Experience with lane closures, flagging, or event traffic management. -Familiarity with Caltrans standards and MUTCD guidelines. -Experience driving stake beds, pickups, or utility trucks. -Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills. {Behavioral Expectations: -Professional attitude and teamwork. -Strong communication with Leads and Drivers. -Ability to stay calm and focused in fast‑moving or high‑pressure situations. -Accountability for equipment, time, and safety. -Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, or long shifts when needed.
