Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse for a prestigious Acute Care / Academic Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. This role involves providing high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced, Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding to changes with appropriate interventions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility protocols.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
Licensure: Active New York State RN license (required).
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of PICU experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center.
Certifications:
BLS & PALS (required).
ACLS (preferred).
Technical Skills:
EMR experience (EPIC preferred).
Soft Skills:
Strong clinical assessment & critical thinking abilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
