We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Cabling Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. This role focuses on the professional installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of structured network cabling (CAT6 and CAT7) and traditional POTS telephone lines in commercial and office environments. The ideal candidate is a skilled, detail-oriented technician with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on field experience in low-voltage cabling. This is a great opportunity for an experienced installer looking for flexible, high-paying part-time work.
Install, pull, terminate, and label CAT6 and CAT7 network cabling (including patch panels, wall jacks, and racks)
Install and terminate POTS (analog telephone) lines and associated infrastructure
Test all cabling using appropriate tools (Fluke testers, cable certifiers, tone generators, etc.) to ensure compliance with TIA/EIA standards
Perform basic troubleshooting and fault isolation on copper cabling (opens, shorts, miswires, split pairs, PoE issues, etc.)
Maintain clean and professional cable management practices (pathways, cable supports, labeling, and documentation)
Read and interpret floor plans, blueprints, and cabling diagrams
Work independently or as part of a small crew on client sites
Adhere to all safety standards and industry best practices (NEC, BICSI, TIA)
Required QualificationsMinimum 5 years of professional experience installing and testing low-voltage cabling (CAT6/CAT7 and POTS lines)
Strong working knowledge of structured cabling standards and best practices
Proficiency with cable testing and certification equipment
Ability to work at heights, in tight spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications (Certs are a Plus)BICSI Installer 1, Installer 2, or Technician (TECH) certification
CompTIA Network+ or similar networking certification
Fluke Networks or other manufacturer-specific cable testing certification
Low-voltage electrical license (where applicable)
Compensation & Schedule$50 per hour (paid weekly)
Part-time / flexible schedule – hours will vary based on project needs
