Opportunity to grow across infrastructure, security, and compliance Job description As FUNCSHUN’s boots-on-ground technical authority in Miami, the Field Systems Engineer is responsible for executing on-site deployments, compliance inspections, and infrastructure management across a diverse client base. This role demands hands-on expertise in server and network systems, endpoint rollouts, and detailed client documentation, ensuring that every project is assessed, executed, and properly closed with professionalism and precision. Responsibilities Execute device setups, firewall and switch installations, structured cabling, rack mounting, and AV/Zoom Room support at client sites Manage server decommissions, iDRAC/IPMI configuration, NAS and backup systems, and hardware validation on platforms such as Dell PowerEdge Support network engineering tasks including VLAN implementation, network segmentation, WPA Enterprise WiFi setup, IP configuration, and gateway troubleshooting Conduct daily backup audits and triage failure points using Acronis Cyber Protect; escalate critical issues as needed Participate in compliance inspections (PCI DSS physical and logical audits), document findings, and assist with audit reporting Provision and onboard endpoints with NinjaRMM, configure managed software tools, and verify agent connectivity Log all work and configuration changes in IT Glue; produce network diagrams and asset inventories after engagements Collaborate remotely with the technical team using Microsoft Teams during site visits Perform structured cabling, rack wiring, and labeling consistent with industry standards Validate hardware functionality and ensure quality control throughout deployments Required Qualifications 3+ years of IT field support, systems administration, or infrastructure experience Strong foundation in networking: VLANs, IP addressing, switch/router configuration, WPA Enterprise WiFi Hands-on experience with server hardware including rack mounting, iDRAC/IPMI configuration, and decommissioning Familiarity with backup platforms, especially Acronis, and backup validation processes Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365 administration, and endpoint management tools Proficient in technical documentation including client-facing notes and network diagrams Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel locally within Miami-Dade and Broward counties Professional demeanor with strong client communication skills Fluency in English and Spanish Preferred Qualifications Expertise in VLAN configuration, IP addressing, and switch/router setup Experience with WPA Enterprise WiFi, particularly UniFi Fabrics and FreeRADIUS Proficiency in server rack mounting and hardware validation Advanced backup auditing skills with Acronis Cyber Protect Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration Excellent client-facing communication and bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) Technical documentation skills including network diagrams and compliance reporting Company Description FUNCSHUN is a Miami-area IT and cybersecurity company that helps businesses secure, simplify, and scale.
