Event Network Technician — Project-Based / Temporary Events
Position Type: Freelance / Contract (Project-Based)
Pay: Daily rate, based on experience
Location: Los Angeles/So Cal
We're looking for a reliable Event Network Technician to support the setup, operation, and teardown of temporary network infrastructure at live events. This is project-based work, ideal for a freelancer or contractor who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments and shows up ready to work.
Responsibilities
*Set up and configure temporary network infrastructure for events (routers, switches, access points)
*Terminate and crimp Ethernet cable (RJ45) on-site as needed
*Deploy and manage wireless access points for reliable event-wide coverage
*Troubleshoot network issues quickly during live events
*Tear down and pack up equipment at the end of each event
*Coordinate with event production/AV teams to ensure connectivity needs are met
Required Skills & Experience
*Proven experience crimping and terminating RJ45 Ethernet connectors
*Solid working knowledge of networking equipment: routers, switches, and wireless access points
*Ability to troubleshoot network issues under time pressure in a live event setting
*Must be reliable and punctual, with a strong track record of showing up on time and following through
*Must have own reliable transportation to and from job sites
Preferred (Nice to Have)
*Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi network equipment
*Experience with MikroTik routers
*AV (audio/visual) production experience
*Prior experience in live events, trade shows, or corporate event environments
Compensation
Daily rate, commensurate with experience
