Help create a positive, respectful, and accountable company culture We are a woman owned residential construction company based in Woodland Hills, and seeking an experienced, practical, and compassionate HR professional to support our growing team on a part time basis. This position is ideal for an independent HR consultant who enjoys helping a small business establish clear policies, improve communication, support leadership, and navigate employee and independent contractor matters. Responsibilities: Provide guidance on employee and independent contractor relations Draft and review job descriptions, policies, agreements, and internal communications Assist with onboarding, performance expectations, documentation, and corrective action Help facilitate sensitive conversations and resolve workplace concerns Advise leadership on California employment practices and compliance Support the development of practical HR systems and procedures Meet with team members and leadership as needed Help create a positive, respectful, and accountable company culture Qualifications: At least five years of professional HR experience Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices Experience supporting small businesses, construction companies, or field based teams preferred Comfortable working with both employees and independent contractors Excellent written communication, mediation, and problem solving skills Warm, approachable, direct, and able to maintain confidentiality SHRM or PHR certification preferred but not required Schedule and Compensation This is a remote, part time independent contractor position requiring approximately five hours per week. Some meetings may be held by Zoom, phone, or occasionally in person in Woodland Hills.
