A Terminal Manager is a salaied, exempt employee who provides support and leadership to the terminal staff. The position ensures the highest quality of customer service is provided within the terminal and provides administrative support in the areas of compliance, regulations, policies, and procedures. The position reports directly to Area Vice President of Operations as well as consults with the Managers of Safety, Human Resources, and Accounting, Recruiting.

Specific Duties:
Oversees all day-to-day facility operations.
Provide guidance, leadership, management, and evaluation of direct reports. Management of all part-time drivers to include, but not limited to, all disciplinary actions, coaching, counseling, and overseeing yearly driver road test evaluations.
Responsible for leading and directing a workforce of 60+ employees.
Assure that all routes are covered, and schedules met and any other matters that involve contract compliance.
Oversee the assignment of driving personnel to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Coordinate with Human Resources when conducting disciplinary actions of employees.
Act as a liaison between Lakeland Area Bus Service and customers, community, parents, students and public always ensuring the reputation of Lakeland Area Bus Service. Conduct monthly reviews with the customer / client (school personnel at contacted schools) are required, which may include written statements to VP.
Oversee all payroll, account receivables, account payables and month end requirements to ensure timely submission for all operations within your location.
Develop and maintain close relationships with customers.
Knowledge and understanding of all School District contracts and facility leases.
Ensuring that each of your School District’s student transportation designees are being supplied with all required information and assist in providing safe, reliable, on-time service through creating efficient and cost-effective solutions to routing issues.
Management of monthly Profit and Loss Statements and Fixed Asset Reports, as well as all monthly reporting and submissions, such as payroll, billing and accounts payable are submitted timely and accurately.
Coordination and assistance with Vice President of Operations to development annual financial plans for the location, while also executing the established budget, including managing cost control, capital investment decisions, forecasting, pricing and service management.
Develop charter and school business for assets during non-school days and summer months.
Implement driver recruitment programs to ensure coverage of daily home to school routes and sufficient substitute personnel.
Investigate all accidents and incidents, including conducting interviews, schedule follow-up retraining or other corrective action and report findings.
Oversee effective preventative maintenance program as designated by STA policy.
Understanding and enforcing all STA policies and State and Federal applicable regulations.
Ensures that all employees are maintaining their credentials and are provided with all necessary job training.
Coordinates and attends monthly driver safety meetings and coordinate and lead regular staff meetings.
Performs other collateral duties as required by STA Senior Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent; preferred.
At least four (4) years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience managing transportation facilities preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must be competent and knowledgeable in operations policies and procedures.
Written and verbal communication skills, and customer service skills are essential. Ability to deal with problems and find solutions.
Must have knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
Must be willing to work in excess of 40 hours per week and on some weekends.
Must be highly motivated and capable of leadership by example.
Must be committed to visiting operation site within the division on a regular basis. Will attend administrative meetings and, at times, represent the division staff on behalf of the Division.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Must obtain a CDL license with “S” and “P” endorsements within six months of hire.
