Job description:
Staten Plumbing is growing! We’re a new construction plumbing company who is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager / Estimator to join our team and help drive successful project outcomes from bid to completion.
The Project Manager / Estimator will be primarily office-based and responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for new construction plumbing projects. This role will support project execution by handling documentation, tracking budgets and change orders, and communicating with vendors and general contractors for quotes. The position focuses on administrative oversight and preconstruction planning rather than direct field management, with a focus on increasing project management responsibilities with experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with plans, numbers, and project documentation/software.

Responsibilities:
• Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents
• Perform material takeoffs and labor calculations
• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and proposals
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Submit bids and assist with contract negotiations
• Oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout
• Develop project schedules and timelines
• Coordinate with general contractors, vendors, inspectors, and field teams
• Manage budgets, change orders, and job costing
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in plumbing estimating and/or project management
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and construction processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience with estimating software and project management tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in commercial new construction
• Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
