Job Title: Construction Administrative Assistant (Part-Time or Full-Time)
Company: Sacramento Area General Contractor
Location: Sacramento, California (On-site)
Compensation: $25 per hour (depending on experience)
Position Overview
We are a well-established general contractor in the Sacramento area specializing in both commercial and residential construction projects. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Administrative Assistant to join our team on either a part-time or full-time basis. This is a key support role focused on vendor/subcontractor management, bidding processes, and project administration.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and qualify Sacramento-area vendors and subcontractors capable of bidding on commercial and residential construction projects.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date vendor and subcontractor resource database.
• Prepare and distribute building plans, specifications, and bid invitations to qualified vendors and subcontractors.
• Maintain organized project contract files, including subcontract agreements, correspondence, insurance certificates, and other required documentation.
• Prepare regular project reports from start to finish, including budget vs. actual costs and project schedules.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with vendors and subcontractors throughout the bidding process.
• Support overall project administration and coordination as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
• Prior construction administration experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
• Strong professional communication skills — comfortable interacting with company owners, architects, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of construction terminology, bidding processes, and document management is a plus.
