Summary: Performs routine diagnostic radiology imaging examinations, evaluating requisitions, identifying patients, selecting equipment, assessing patient status, and explaining procedures while practicing ALARA and high reliability. Explains examinations and answers questions regarding radiation exposure Apply Now Position Summary Performs routine imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations. Key Responsibilities:Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations. Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers. Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy. Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs. Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA. Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow. Practices High Reliability Training. Minimum Requirements: Education:An Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology is required. Bachelor's degree preferred Experience:Training in Diagnostic Radiology License/Certifications:MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required. The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
