Opportunity to produce a rotating seasonal pastry menu We are a new bakery/cafe opening in Baltimore and we are searching for a AM/Daytime Baker to help our team. Our kitchen is focused on using the best possible ingredients, baking with locally milled flours, and serving the highest quality coffee, food and baked goods. We are looking to fill multiple roles on the baking/pastry side, Early morning shift begins at 5am, AM shift begins 8/9am. We are a worker first, LGBQTA+ friendly enviroment, we hope to hear from you. our perfect canidate is a detail driven baker with experience in production of muffins, cookies, scones, buns, laminated doughs and other bakery items to join our team! This job requires you to work independently but also alongside our bakery team to efficiently scale, mix, portion, shape, proof, and bake-off multiple types of breads and pastries. You will also be expected to produce garnish, fillings, and sauces for a rotating seasonal pastry menu. Qualifications: - Work experience in pastry, proofing and dough mixing - Work experience with laminated doughs - Ability to work efficiently and multi task Responsibilities • Mixing, laminating, shaping, proofing, and baking croissants • Assisting Head Baker with daily viennoiserie production — managing proofing times to accommodate baking schedule, egg washing, filling, baking, and applying finish garnishes on products • Baking cinnamon rolls, muffins, biscuits, english muffins, loaves and cookies • Making pastry cream and frosting • Assisting and learning from Head Baker with mixing, shaping, and baking Requirements • Punctuality and reliability are key. • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for 8+ hours • Comfortable working with large commercial ovens and mixers • Organized, professional, and able to follow detailed recipes and the Head Baker's or Chefs direction • Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing critical baking times independently • Positive collaborative attitude Email with resume or brief run down of most recent baking experience
