Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our fast-paced warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing materials, operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. Your proactive approach will help maintain safety standards, optimize inventory management, and support the overall distribution process. Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, transport, and position materials within the warehouse. Perform order picking using barcode scanning technology and manual methods to fulfill shipping requirements accurately and efficiently. Manage inventory levels by conducting regular cycle counts and updating warehouse management systems (WMS) with precise data. Assist in shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing shipments for dispatch. Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure all material handling equipment remains in optimal working condition. Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents and injuries. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas, maintaining clean workspaces, and adhering to manual handling best practices for heavy lifting. Requirements: Proven experience operating forklifts (including reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks) and other material handling equipment in a warehouse or distribution setting. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory management software. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques. Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving procedures, order picking, load & unload activities. Warehouse experience with materials handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks and lift trucks is highly preferred; warehouse supervisor experience is a plus.
