Please note: Cooking home style meals experience required. Meat like raw chicken, beef, pork roast, soups, potatoes, majoring salads, veggies, desserts bread, eggs cook to order, biscuits and gravy, pancakes. Etc..

We are looking for an experienced, upbeat, and positive cook to prepare breakfast and lunch for approximately 60 residents in a well-run, organized, and enjoyable kitchen.
This is a resident-facing role. Our cooks are part of daily life with residents and are not tucked away in the kitchen.
Schedule
Shifts may fluctuate based on operational needs
Typical hours: start at and are between 6:30 AM – 5: 30 PM
Includes a 1-hour meal break unpaid
Weekend work required
What You’ll Be Cooking
Simple, homestyle breakfasts, such as:
Pancakes
Eggs (including eggs to order)
Biscuits and gravy
Hashbrowns and other breakfast basics
Lunch includes complete homestyle meals for approximately 60 residents
Soups, sauces, and daily entrees
Some pre-prepping is required
Washing your dishes, working as a team player, putting food service order away.
A general prep cook is available to help support the kitchen and us a cook as well.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch meals on schedule
Complete full meal preparation for residents
Follow menus, recipes, and established timeframes
Prep food and ingredients for the following day
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
Interact positively with residents throughout the day
Answer occasional phone calls and take messages
Respond to emergency pull strings and fire alarms as trained
May include calling 911 or notifying appropriate staff. Training provided.
Maintain a calm, friendly, and professional presence at all times
Note: All other Staff are fully trained, and there are typically two team members on site while training.
Qualifications
Cooking experience is required (homestyle, diner, or institutional preferred)
Must be comfortable preparing complete meals for groups.
Able to multitask and think quickly in a kitchen environment and outside of the box.

Compensation
Starting at $17.50 per hour (DOE) Proof of experience facility style cooking is good.
Hours vary depending typically range from 25 to 38 per week. TBD
