Summary
Provide quality meals and dietary service to residents.
This position is full-time, Saturday - Wednesday, $22 - $25 per hour.
Weekend shifts begin at 5:30am while weekday shifts begin at 10:30am.
Duties
• Prepare and serve nutritious and tasteful attractively presented meals, desserts and daily lunches
• Check with AM chef to coordinate lunch meal
• Clean kitchen area and appliances after usage
• Check all equipment
• Coordinate closely with food service manager and AM cook to make sure that the dinner meal is properly planned, ingredients are available, leftovers are used up, etc.
• Make time during regular shifts to do necessary side work and cleaning tasks assigned by food service manager or manager
• Be willing to perform additional tasks, as they are required by the food service manager or facility manager
• Assist with stock by checking it in, rotating it and putting it away
• Make sure all equipment is turned off before leaving for the day
• Practice all food safety measures from department of health and facility procedures
Qualifications
• State-approved Food Handler Card, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
• Ability to perform duties of institutional cooking
• Experience in volume meal preparation
• Present self in a neat and orderly fashion
• Meet the physical and mental demands of the position
• Cooperate with and be polite to the residents and other staff members
• Keep kitchen area neat, orderly and clean
• Make recommendations on menus and meal service
