Job description:
A busy sorority house needs an experienced weekend cook to round out our Food Service Team. Start date September 5,2026
What to Expect:
A fast-paced kitchen that feeds between 80- 100 members a day during the academic year.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter that is comfortable working alone and with other members of the Food Service team.
Workdays:
Saturday Brunch and Sunday Dinner
Cook Responsibilities:
Prep and cook meals according to a set menu for Saturday brunch and Sunday dinner
Cleanup workspace.
If working a shift alone, it is set up, prepare, cook, serve, wash and store dishes following kitchen procedures and closing checklist. It also includes cleaning the dishwashing area, food- serving areas and equipment, dining room tables and chairs and cleaning the dining room area alone.
Work with other members of the Food Services team to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the kitchen.
As needed assist with putting away deliveries of food, paper goods and other products.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School education or equivalent
3 years food prepping and cooking experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen
Experience with use of commercial dishwasher
Food Handlers Permit or SafeServe Certification
General knowledge of cleaning and sanitation
General knowledge of safe food-handling practices
Effective communication skills
Ability and willing to follow standards and procedures, and accept direction & training and work as part of a team
Be able to successful pass a national criminal background check
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Job Type: Up to 20 hours a week while school is in session.
Pay: Starting at $25.00 hr.
