Summary: The Bartender is responsible for providing efficient, professional beverage service while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper operation of indoor and outdoor bars. BEAR BURGERS BACKYARD BARTENDER RESPONSIBILITIES The Bartender is responsible for providing efficient, professional beverage service while maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and proper operation of both the indoor and outdoor bars. BAR SERVICE * Work and rotate between the indoor and outdoor bar based on business needs. * Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and other menu items according to house standards. * Provide prompt and professional service to all guests. * Follow established recipes, portioning, and pouring standards. * Verify identification and follow all alcohol-service requirements. * Monitor guests and practice responsible alcohol service. * Maintain knowledge of current drink offerings, pricing, specials, and events. * Accurately enter all orders into the POS system. * Ensure all beverages are properly rung in before being served. * Properly handle cash, credit-card transactions, tabs, and guest checks. INDOOR & OUTDOOR BAR * Be prepared to work either bar during any scheduled shift. * Maintain the same service, cleanliness, and operational standards at both locations. * Keep both bars stocked and ready for service. * Communicate with other bartenders and barbacks regarding inventory and restocking needs. * Assist with transferring necessary supplies between bars when required. * Ensure the outdoor bar remains organized and guest-ready throughout service. CLEANLINESS & ORGANIZATION * Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the entire shift. * Wipe and sanitize bar tops, counters, equipment, bottles, and work surfaces. * Keep sinks, ice wells, speed rails, coolers, and storage areas clean. * Immediately clean spills and broken glass. * Keep floors and bartender work areas free of unnecessary clutter. * Remove empty bottles, cans, containers, and other waste throughout service. * Keep all emergency exits and pathways unobstructed. STOCKING & INVENTORY * Stock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, juices, garnishes, cups, straws, napkins, and other bar supplies before service. * Monitor inventory throughout the shift and communicate shortages immediately. * Restock products before they are completely depleted. * Properly rotate and store products. * Notify management of low inventory, damaged products, or equipment concerns. * Do not remove, transfer, or give away restaurant products without authorization. OPENING RESPONSIBILITIES * Arrive on time and have the assigned bar fully prepared before opening. * Complete opening setup for the indoor or outdoor bar as assigned. * Stock all necessary beverages and supplies. * Prepare garnishes and other required bar-prep items. * Check ice, glassware/cups, mixers, juices, and other service necessities. * Ensure the POS and assigned workstation are ready for service. * Confirm the bar is clean, organized, and guest-ready. CLOSING RESPONSIBILITIES * Complete all assigned closing duties before leaving. * Clean and sanitize the entire bar workstation. * Properly store liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and other products. * Remove trash, bottles, cans, and cardboard from the bar area. * Break down boxes and place waste in designated disposal areas. * Restock the bar for the next business day. * Clean bar equipment, sinks, counters, coolers, and surrounding work areas. * Complete required POS and cash-out procedures. * Ensure the indoor and/or outdoor bar is clean, stocked, organized, secured, and reset for the next business day. TEAMWORK & ACCOUNTABILITY * Work cooperatively with fellow bartenders, barbacks, servers, security, kitchen staff, porters, and management. * Communicate professionally with guests and coworkers. * Support other bar stations during high-volume periods. * Follow management direction regarding bar assignments and operational needs. * Report guest incidents, intoxication concerns, shortages, breakage, safety issues, or other problems to management promptly. * Follow all Bear Burgers Backyard policies, sanitation standards, and alcohol-service procedures. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the operational needs of Bear Burgers Backyard.
