Summary:
Coordinates congregate meal services, supervises volunteers, ensures sanitation and safety, and organizes social and recreational activities for clients.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the serving of congregate meals, supervise volunteers, and maintain the sanitation and safety of meal services. Coordinate social service and recreational activities for site clients. Perform tasks associated with ordering, inventory, and storing of all items associated with meals operation. Maintain statistics for the program.
DUTIES:
1. Complete time sheets and evaluations for volunteers.
2. Provide outreach to local senior community to recruit both participants and activities to congregate meal site.
3. Receive and check caterer delivery each day for adequate quantities, appropriate temperatures and on-time delivery. Complete comment sheet.
4. Communicate with drivers as necessary for smooth functioning of routes.
5. Enforce health and sanitation requirements.
6. Prepare and place orders for all supplies to ensure adequate stocks for site operation. Regularly complete inventory.
7. Implement recreational and social service activities with the assistance of the Nutrition Program Manager. Encourage site participation by creating a congenial atmosphere, integrating new participants into site activities and following up by telephone with participants who do not return to meal site.
8. Ensure that all forms, including monthly statistics, are filled out as necessary and that a copy is sent to Ethos office staff as scheduled.
9.Recruit volunteers for area-wide congregate site advisory council.
10.Complete Title IIIC registration forms for all clients, insuring privacy of information, and submit as required to the Ethos Nutrition Staff.
11. Communicate problems to the Ethos Nutrition Staff.
12. Ensure client confidentiality, oversee the distribution, collection, and counting of donation envelopes.
13. Attend regularly scheduled meetings as required.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrated ability to perform simple math.
2. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Sensitivity to elder issues and diverse populations.
4. Ability to safely lift up to 30 lbs. and perform routine cleaning and serving tasks on a daily basis at the site.
5. Complete food safety and allergen training.
6. Pass CPR/anti-choking certification course during first six months of employment if site is of a size to require this.
7. Pass pre-employment CORI check and annual TB Screening.
8. One to two years of related work experience preferred.
