Multi-tasking and professional communication skills required All Candidates must be comfortable working on Skid Row The Monitor is an entry level position that works to provide support and security of our Veterans' program premises, and safety for program clients. Responsibilities: While patrolling observe Shelter to ensure safe operations; report and correct any spills, unsafe working conditions. Know location of fire exits, be prepared to assist participants in case of any emergency. Search Bags of those entering the Program area. Monitor clients and conduct room checks; maintain records of client compliance of program rules, report to case management staff, assist case management staff as required. Call police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized clients/persons. Answer telephones and take messages for clients and staff, monitor doors and greet visitors. Skills Required: Customer Service; De-escalation; Ability to multi-task; Profession Communication Skills.
