Position Overview: The Early Childhood Program Assistant supports the classroom teaching team and helps create a calm, engaging, and respectful learning environment. This is a part-time, academic-year position ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and values collaboration, observation, and thoughtful guidance. In this role, you will assist children in developing independence, concentration, coordination, organization, and social skills—core goals of the Montessori approach. You will also contribute positively to the broader school community through teamwork and communication. The After-School Elementary Assistant will provide support to the student communities, of children ages 6 to 12 years. Throughout the school year, the assistant will work with the after-school staff and Program Director to ensure that students have the necessary tools and time to devote themselves to their work, building a cohesive community and continuing to develop the love of learning. What You’ll Do: Support classroom activities and daily routines. Observe and respond to the needs of individual children and small groups. Help maintain an organized, respectful, and safe environment. Model and encourage kindness, self-control, and responsibility. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and school leadership.
