This is a full-time, onsite position working directly with our Project Manager, Superintendent, field personnel, General Contractor, and other trades. We are looking for someone who can step into an active project and quickly become an integral part of the project team. Electrical construction knowledge is important for this position. The ideal candidate understands electrical plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and field installation and is comfortable working directly with construction personnel. Responsibilities: Provide daily onsite project engineering support to the Project Manager and Superintendent. Review electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, addenda, ASIs, and other contract documents. Prepare, submit, and track RFIs and ensure responses are communicated to field personnel. Maintain current project drawings and documentation and help ensure field personnel are working from the latest information. Prepare and track electrical submittals, approvals, resubmittals, and procurement items. Coordinate electrical work with the General Contractor and other trades. Attend project coordination, subcontractor, and scheduling meetings. Assist with short-term look-ahead schedules and identify upcoming material, equipment, access, and coordination needs. Track electrical equipment and material deliveries, including long-lead items. Identify changes in scope and assist with change-order documentation and backup. Track T&M work and ensure field directives and extra work are properly documented. Document delays, access restrictions, trade interference, and other conditions that could affect project cost or schedule. Maintain daily project records, progress photographs, and project logs. Assist with tracking manpower, installed quantities, and field productivity. Coordinate inspections, testing, startup, and commissioning requirements as needed. Maintain project redlines and assist with preparation of as-built drawings. Assist with punch lists and project closeout documentation. Maintain organized project records using eSUB and other project management systems. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or similar position with an electrical contractor strongly preferred. Working knowledge of electrical construction is required. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, schedules, and construction documents. Familiarity with electrical systems including conduit and raceways, feeders, branch circuits, panels, switchgear, lighting, controls, and related equipment. Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, T&M documentation, as-builts, and project closeout. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with field personnel, Project Managers, General Contractors, inspectors, and other trades. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities on a fast-paced construction project. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software. eSUB experience is a plus. Previous San Francisco public works or school construction experience is a plus.
