Maintenance Supervisor/Building Engineer
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to perform maintenance work while leading daily operations and supporting the maintenance team. This is a union position with full union benefits, requires on-call availability, and residency in a company-provided unit on the property.
Compensation: $34–$38/hour
Key Responsibilities
Perform hands-on maintenance work, including routine, urgent, and emergency repairs
Supervise and support maintenance staff; assign, prioritize, and monitor work orders
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and meets quality standards
Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and management
Coordinate outside vendors for work beyond in-house scope
Prepare scopes of work and ensure make-ready units are completed on schedule
Attend and facilitate NSPIRE and all required inspections, including annual mandatory inspections
Qualifications
High School Diploma required; trade school or college coursework preferred
Minimum 5 years residential maintenance experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role
Strong hands-on knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety
Working knowledge of NSPIRE inspection standards
Leadership, planning, and communication skills
