Summary: This role involves taking property photos for insurance underwriters and handling appointments with property owners. Highlights: 1. Focus on getting good angles for property assessment 2. Engage with cooperative property owners, de-escalating when necessary 3. Routine underwriting visits with no selling involved We provide reports to insurance underwriters on properties people are applying for insurance on. We are looking for someone who has a good eye for taking photos- getting those good angles that really make the underwriter understand the property they are insuring. Experience with taking pictures of properties would be helpful, but is not necessary- we will teach you what the underwriters are looking for. We pay all expenses of going to your assignments- which is mainly "mileage" reimbursement for using a car (50c/mile). Our pay program is "base pay" of $20.00 per hour PLUS the expense reimbursement. We do make appointments for most of our visits. We will train you how to do those correctly. These are property owners who want these policies and therefore 99% of them are super cooperative. However, you have to be the type of person that can easily handle the 1% that are just plain ornery persons. You need to “de-escalate” a situation and should be confident you are that type of person. We like to assign our representatives their work on a weekly basis- usually on Monday mornings. We assign you enough work to keep you busy the amount of hours you want to work. However, you keep track of how many hours you work each week, not us. You submit your "hours worked" and your "expenses" every week. Your assignments will typically be in a fairly tight group- as we do have quite a bit of work in Pennsylvania. However, liking to drive is important if you are applying for this job. Its not like all your assignments are going to be in Allentown! For people wanting more than 20 hours per week they would need to be “ok” with sometimes going into Philadelphia. There is no "selling" in this job- these are all visits for underwriters who are insuring these properties. It is not because of a claim. Just routine underwriting visits to check things like sidewalk conditions and building maintenance on properties being insured. We require a commitment of at least 20 hours per week and the applicants should have full usage of a reliable (somewhat economical) vehicle. A cover letter and a resume are always appreciated!
