The job is hard to define because we need help with a lot of different things. One day you might be getting bids and visiting the building department for a construction project. Another you might be improving an inventory system, helping with payroll or bookkeeping, researching a purchase, or solving an unexpected problem. We don't expect you to know how to do all of these things but we do expect you to be good at figuring things out. What you'll do Manage projects and make sure things actually get done Coordinate vendors, contractors, repairs, and maintenance Help with small-business operations, inventory, and purchasing Research problems and purchases and make recommendations Stay up-to-date with bookkeeping, payroll, invoices, and expenses Help manage properties and short-term rental operations Who we're looking for You don't need a particular degree or background. This could be a great first or second job for someone who is curious, sharp, organized, and dependable. When you don't know how to do something, your instinct is to figure it out. You're comfortable calling people, asking questions, comparing options, and making decisions. You notice details and follow through. There will be interesting projects, but there will also be errands, spreadsheets, phone calls, and mundane tasks. We're looking for someone who is happy to do both. You'll work directly with us and get a close-up look at running a small business, managing projects, and making things happen. As you earn trust, we'll give you more to own. If you're eventually interested in operations, project management, Chief of Staff work, or starting something yourself, you'll probably learn a lot here.
